YOUR VOICE, OUR CITY!
Youth, free public transportation, entrepreneurship, multiculturalism, a city for all. If these themes resonate with you, you’re in the right place, and I might be exactly your candidate for the 2025 Helsinki city council elections. I want to make Helsinki a vibrant and inspiring city where everyone can feel at home. Together, we can make Helsinki the best place in the world to live and grow regardless of our backgrounds.

Campaign Themes
More Urban Space
Imagine a city built on a human scale, where art, exercise, and culture are present everywhere, and every resident feels at home.
More pedestrian streets: We should convert more streets to permanent pedestrian streets, create seasonal pedestrian streets and market quarters that support local small businesses, and create livelier urban spaces. This makes the city more pleasant, health-promoting, and environmentally friendly.
Freedom to create a personal city: Helsinkians should have more opportunities and tools to create their own spaces. Good examples in Helsinki include painted electrical boxes, Sompasauna, Suvilahti skatepark, and OmaStadi projects. The city must enable residents to create more of these spaces to gather, relax, and make the city unique.
Staying competitive & International
Helsinki must be a vibrant and competitive international capital. Small businesses, start-ups, and local shops are the heart of our city. Let’s make Helsinki more vibrant through:
Supporting entrepreneurship: Providing mentoring, networks, and low-threshold advice for new entrepreneurs. Giving everyone a chance to succeed by supporting them from the start.
Attracting international top talent: Helsinki has to be more attractive to foreign talent. Helsinki can be a compelling destination for world-class expertest and innovators to settle in.
Attracting businesses to Helsinki: Creating favourable conditions for companies to establish their offices in Helsinki. Offering tax incentives, spaces, and support services.
Promoting entrepreneurship as an effective way to make an impact on society: Encouraging entrepreneurship that promotes social justice and environmental responsibility. Supporting particularly social and ecological enterprises.
Zero-fare public transport
Free public transportation makes the city more mobile and equitable. Everyone should have the right to free movement.
Free public transportation for Helsinki residents: The city should subsidise HSL ticket costs fully toHelsinki residents and make travel easy and accessible for everyone. The example from zero-fare transport systems such as that in Tallinn shows that free public transportation has significantly reduced the number of motor vehicles on our roads, also reducing congestion and improving air quality.
Reducing emissions: By encouraging passengers to switch from cars to buses, subways, and trams, we reduce traffic emissions and increase the amount of physical activity.
Savings in road maintenance: Fewer motor vehicles mean less wear and tear on the roads, reducing road maintenance costs and saving the city’s resources in the long run.
Investing in youth
Youth are our future strength. By investing in young adults, teens, and children, we ensure that Helsinki is full of healthy, well-being, and active community members. As a young candidate, I promise to invest in the well-being and participation of young people if elected as well as listen to the youth's worries and hopes for the city.
More recreational places: We must build more exercise places and support recreational activities. Young people should have a city where they can practice their interests, thrive, and experience a sense of community.
Fix mental health services: The increase in mental health problems among young people must be stopped. Helsinki should offer free therapy and low-threshold mental health services to everyone under 30. This way, young people can also be more efficient and of greater benefit to society.
Invest in sexual education: Quality sexual education is crucial for the overall well-being of young people. Ensuring that young people have enough knowledge and support to build a safe and healthy life, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity is vital.
